History of At Home Safe Inspections
In 2004 my family and I were excited to be buying what we thought would be our dream home. As recommended, I hired a home inspector before purchasing the home, and we soon received the report. The report was seven pages long, and did not have any pictures or indications of problems found in our home. With no major issues presented to us by the inspector, we were glad to proceed with the purchase of our house. To our surprise, our dream home quickly became a nightmare. We had plumbing issues like leaking sinks, problems with the electrical panel and several outlets, and more issues seemed to pop up as the days passed. It was a very difficult situation for my family, and this experience is what drove me to decide to change careers in 2009. I went back to school at the University of Texas at Arlington because of the partnership they hold with the American Home Inspection Training Institute (AHIT). I passed the requirements set by the Texas Real Estate Commission, and obtained my Texas license as a Professional Home Inspector. I am also a member of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI), the world's largest non-profit association of inspectors.
This has helped shape the focus of At Home Safe Inspections. Giving my clients a thorough home inspection helps other families avoid the nightmare mine went through.
